Signs of a Worn A/C Belt

A deteriorating A/C belt may cause:

Squealing when the A/C is switched on
Belt slipping
Cracking or visible belt deterioration
Frayed belt edges
Loss of A/C compressor drive
Abnormal noise from the belt area
Poor or non-functioning air conditioning

During replacement, it is advisable to inspect the relevant pulleys, tensioner and belt-drive components for wear.
